| | Postal challengesJune 23, 2009 - Jessica VanderKolkMail is often unpredictable. We slap a stamp on an envelope and hope it reaches the intended destination in reasonable time. Adding a foreign address to the mix complicates matters. We found out today a friend had sent us a wedding invitation in March. She received it back in her own mailbox this week. Thank goodness for the Internet, right? We had the same problem sending Christmas cards, receiving a few back once the snow thawed. Despite the unpredictability, we're glad the German post is here. Just beware when ordering things from foreign countries. We paid a hefty import tax on some running shoes, trying to get a deal. What stories about the postal service do you have?
