Rebuilding the rails

An interesting article came across Der Spiegel today.

The German rail company, Deutsche Bahn, wants to help Iraq rebuild its rail system, particularly freight. Officials from DB plan to meet this week with Iraq's transportation minister. The deal apparently has been in the works for about a year.

What do you think about rebuilding rail capabilities in Iraq and elsewhere? Should it see a resurgence in the U.S.?
