| | Great shot(s)!May 23, 2009 - Neil RudelIt was a week for great shots with LeBron James squaring the Cavs-Magic series with a last-second 3-pointer Friday night, but that was somehow topped by Evgeni Malkin's no-look backhander Thursday night that underlined the Pens' Game 2 win over Carolina. Though not a game-winner, Malkin's was truly incredible while James' timing saved Cleveland's season. Had the shot missed, the Cavs would go to Orlando down 2-0 and facing elimination. The NBA's dream finals matchup of LeBron vs. Kobe is still alive, but it doesn't look good as both favorites have already lost home-court advantage. In the NBA and NHL finals, teams that return home trailing 2-0 are a good bet to win Game 3, which bodes well for Carolina. Here's hoping the Pens split and return for Game 5 with a 3-1 lead. As for my/my dad's darkhorse pick of Take the Points in the Preakness -- the horse finished last -- I am calling on Glenn Stevens' expertise for the Belmont, a decision my dad fully supports.
