It seems in the past few weeks there has nothing but more and more news about future releases for each game. First off is The Beatles: Rock Band. If you like The Bealtes then this may be a cool game to add to your collection of music rhythm games. If you are a hardcore Beatles fan then not only will you want to buy the game you will probably want to fork over the money for the two standalone replica guitars that will be released along side the game. Supposedly the are the same type of guitars that were used by John Lennon and George Harrison. If you do want to get everything here is how the pricing structure breaks down" Bundle: $250 Rickenbacker 325:$100 Gretsch Duo Jet: $100 Total: $450 To me, that's alot of money. But if your that hardcore about The Beatles then it may be a small price to pay. Moving on... ________________________________________________________ I mentioned in a previous post about the rumored Guitar Hero: Van Halen. Well it is a rumor no more. Activision has comfirmed that there will in fact be a GH: Van Halen released sometime in the second half of the year. No songs have been released yet but Activision has stated that they will be Van Halen/David Lee Roth not Van Halen/Hagar. Plus they will be joined by acts such as Queen, Weezer, Blink 182, The Offspring and Queens of the Stoneage. To me this seems like an automatic buy. Hopefully the playlist will be up to snuff but I mean c'mon it is Van Halen. ________________________________________________________ Staying on Guitar Hero, Activision has also announced three more GH games to be released this year. Yeah you read that right...three. The future releases are Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero and DJ Hero. Obviously we all know what Guitar Hero 5 is but what about the other two. Band Hero is a E10+ rated game that would seem to be competing with the recently announced Lego Rock Band in the family friendly rock game category. DJ Hero is basically the same game as Guitar Hero but instead you are using a turn table peripheral and obviously the music will be a bit different. I'm not sure how the rest of you feel but it would seem that Activision might be stretching themselves a bit thin. But hey if it works for ya then why not, right? ________________________________________________________ Now on to some more news. And guess what it's about Guitar Hero. Who knew? If you were wondering what the complete playlist for Guitar Hero Smash Hits is check out the following: Guitar Hero
And finally, do you like Tenacious D? Are you going to buy Brutal Legend? If you said yes to both of these then GameStop has a deal for you. If you preorder Brutal Legend at GameStop you will get a special in game Tenacious D guitar that according to Activision was closely worked on with the boys of Tenacious D, Jack Black and Kyle Gass. If you weren't going to get this game before this probably won't entice you at all to change your mind but if you were this is a nice added bonus. -Nick Recchia Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article.
