Bits of Gaming

April 16, 2009 - Nick Recchia Tom Worthington
Here are a few things that are on my mind from around the video game world:

The Beatles Rock Band: According to Destructoid, the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band will support more than one mic making harmonies and back up vocals a possibility for the game. Why oh why wasn't this available for Rock Band 2? Honestly at one point I thought it was, do to some of the song/band choices that are in RB2.

Video Games Live: I just found out that Video Games Live will be coming to Pittsburgh on July 11 and 12. If you don't know what Video Games Live is, here is the description from culturaldistrict.org...."Video Games Live™ is an immersive concert event featuring music from the most popular video games of all time. Your Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh perform along with exclusive video footage, synchronized lighting, solo performers, electronic percussionists, live action and unique audience-interactive segments to create an explosive entertainment experience!" I have been wanting to see this for a long while. I'm thinking I may have to check it out in July. For more info follow the link to the right.

Bane of my existence: Eidos can't help but keep giving us reasons to buy Batman: Arkham Asylum. In this newest sneak peak we get to see yet another one of Batmans enemies. Bane. And when you think of Bane, please don't think of Bane from the movie Batman & Robin. He can actually do some damage and you can tell it from this new video. See the link to the right.

Mythic Map Pack: My last blog was about the Mythic Map Pack and my initial feelings on it. Since then I have gotten some more hands on time with it and I really do like the new maps (depending on the game type). I have since been able to play alot of games on Sandbox. Before I didn't get one game on it. I think my feelings on these new maps is that overall I like them. And that they make me more frustrated than any other maps ever. For instance I like SWAT on Assembly but for some reason I can't get the hang of SWAT on Oribital. I think that there are sooo many places to come from on that map that I can't take it all in. Maybe once I get used to the map I will get the hang of it. Feel free to leave your feelings on the new map pack by posting a comment below.
