Country? It's called "Rock" Band for a reason

So I just read today that starting in the mid-December country music will make its way into Rock Band DLC. I will give you a minute to take that in......Five country artist have been announced so far, Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert and the Dixie Chicks.

According to Xbox360fanboy.com, CMT told them that these five are a good choice because and I quote are "pretty hard-rocking country types." You've got to be kidding me. I think the problem is that country is starting to slip. If you've payed attention at all to the music world you will realize that country has made a shift into pop. They call it "New Country". I call it bull. I get it, Taylor Swift is cute and she can sing but she isn't a pop musician, although they are trying real hard to market her as such.

Rock Band is called "Rock" Band for a reason because its for songs that are of or closely related to the ROCK genre. I know what some might say, I hate this news because I hate country. Well you're partially correct. I don't hate country. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music and I do infact like a few country songs. I know what else some might say, if I don't like the DLC then I don't have to buy it. That is completely true, I don't have to. What I do have to do is skip weeks of what could be decent DLC and wait for this country kick to pass. Is Harmonix really having that hard of a time getting liscenses for good songs? Or are the country labels paying Harmonix that much that they brainwashed themselves into thinking this was a good idea.
