That's normally the domain of the politics reporter here at the Mirror. But what lies ahead in the police/public safety world under a Barack Obama administration? Obama already has said he wants to change the federal sentencing for crack cocaine crimes. Right now, there is a disparity between sentencings for powdered and crack cocaine -- with the latter form of the drug gaining the convicted person a tougher prison sentence. Will we see more officers on the street, ala Bill Clinton and the COPS program? Will we have stricter gun laws? Will it become harder or easier for police to do their job and make arrests?
